Hammer Spawn Solid

The Spawn is an aggressive piece even by Hammer standards. The asymmetric Gauntlet core sits under an HK22 C2 Solid Reactive cover finished at just 1000 grit, which is about as coarse as production equipment gets.

At 15 lbs it reads a 2.50 RG, a .050 differential and a .012 intermediate differential. Those core numbers are strong on their own, but the 1000 grit surface is what defines this ball. That coarse a finish generates enormous friction in the front part of the lane, so the Spawn starts changing direction almost immediately and never lets the oil push it down lane. Save it for the heaviest volume you see, or for flooded fresh patterns where everything else skates. Expect to adjust the surface as it breaks in, and talk layout through with your driller given the asymmetric core.
